A Rare museum-standard fossil Deltadromeus agilis dinosaur claw for sale measuring 32mm exclusively at THE FOSSIL STORE! This juvenile dinosaur claw is from the Late Cretaceous of North Africa and is a remarkable specimen exhibiting throughout the authentic elongated morphology. The 'delta-runner', is an enigmatic dinosaur, discoveries scarce from the region of the Tegana formation. The scarcity of discoveries and a complete skull make an authoritative identification difficult, a single partially complete skeleton has yet to be discovered, until that point no identification can be comprehensively assured.

Condition report: Exhibiting good apical tip, slight matrix coverage around the proximal base of the claw, with an archetypical faint-pink (iron?) colouration, in a stable condition. The Deltadromeus agilis dinosaur claw is of exception preservation considering its slender qualities, the morphology displays a clear vein groove, sometimes referred to as the blood groove. An attractive pink colour persists throughout and this for the author is an added morphological bonus. Proximally some slight matrix attachment.

Deltadromeus claws are far less common discoveries than that of the teeth of dinosaurs, thousands of teeth are discovered from this location, many types and qualities of preservation including mostly damaged or partial teeth. Among these thousands, over the last decade, very few claws have been discovered and good raptor claws are even rarer than other reptilian types. On a topical note, while the popularity of the Jurassic Park films led to the common use of the name raptor for this taxon of the dinosaur, the name does not have any academic taxonomic validity.

Deltadromeus claws, fine to the point and much more elongated than the that of the Dromaeosaur raptors which were a quarter or so there size. The scarcity of discoveries and a complete skull make an authoritative identification difficult, for a single skeleton has yet to be discovered.
