Now presenting our latest series of Carcharodontosaurus dinosaur teeth from the well renowned Cenomanian-Turonian beds form the Cretaceous period dating some 100,000,000 - 89,000,000 years.

Another great example from one of the Saharan predators whilst being a famous relative too, and scientifically classed as the North African Tyrannosaurus Rex, now seen as the magnificent Carcharodontosaurus saharicus, and known for its fierce size as it stood greater than that of the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Condition Report

With exceptional preservation this specimen exhibits a nice light brown colour palette throughout the enamel where the dentin-surface patina has preserved, encouraging the enhancement of the surrounding mineral deposits of the Cretaceous fossil beds. The outer curvature consists of serrations towards the tip (10% on one side) with which it has four small areas where there has been erosion of the tooth which have since been replaced to bring the tooth back to it's original form. And whereas the inner curvature is complete with full serrations and these in particular, just look wonderful and with a fascinating sabre curve. This tooth really is quite special.

Larger predatory dinosaur teeth are prone to damage in the fossil bed, smaller teeth often fare well in comparison to the largest teeth, larger teeth commonly display some degree of wear, unless exceptional. Dinosaur teeth become loose and fall out in use and this should be taken into consideration, often morphology of the teeth is very interesting and helps us understand the life of the carnivore.
